Understanding Domestic Violence

This workshop provides a comprehensive overview of domestic violence definitions, civil and criminal remedies, perpetrator dynamics, victim choices, impact of battering on children, empowerment, advocacy, and collaboration
I also co-present this workshop with Sgt. John Guard (Pitt County Sheriff's Office Domestic Violence Unit) which will include law enforcement response to domestic violence.

Impact of Battering on Children

This workshop provides an overview of domestic violence, prevalence of child witnessing and child abuse, child reactions to witnessing battering, parenting by victims and perpetrators, overlap of child abuse and domestic violence, and best practices for serving child witnesses.
I also co-present this workshop with Sgt. John Guard (Pitt County Sheriff's Office Domestic Violence Unit) which will include law enforcement response to domestic violence when children are involved.

Sexual Violence in Battering Relationships

This workshop provides an overview of domestic violence with a focus on how abusers use sexual violence against adult and child partners, it's impact on victims, best practices for screening and service provision, and post traumatic stress disorder.
I also co-present this workshop with Sgt. John Guard (Pitt County Sheriff's Office Domestic Violence Unit) which will include law enforcement response to sexual violence.

Public Speaking

This workshop is a hands-on interactive workshop on how to deliver short presentations and how to talk to the media. Includes preparing, planning, and organizing your talk; tips for public speaking; and practice.
